Welcome to the official site of the William T. Sherman Memorial Civil War Round Table. It is the main objective of our organization to promote interest in the American Civil War and the rich history surrounding it. It is our hope to preserve the past and honor those heroes by learning more about them and their times so that they will never be forgotten. It is the goal of our Civil War Roundtable to study all aspects of the Civil War, not just General Sherman, including the participants and their personalities, the battles they participated in, the social and political environment of the times and the repercussions to those involved in the conflict, North and South, both militarily and politically as well as the results of the populace at large. It is the hope of the organization to establish an educational tool that the community will be able to utilize and be proud of.

"There is many a boy here today who looks on war as all glory, but boys, it is all hell" - General William T. Sherman

William T. Sherman 1820-1891

" So far from engaging in a war to perpetuate slavery, I am rejoiced that slavery is abolished. I believe it will be greatly for the interest of the South.  So fully am I satisfied of this that I would have cheerfully lost all that I have lost by this war, and have suffered all that I have suffered to have this object attained."
                                            General Robert E. Lee, May 1, 1870
